Moving is stressful enough. The cleaning at either end of it should not be your problem.

A spotless white bathroom

Move-in and move-out cleaning is the most thorough kind of domestic cleaning there is. Nothing is skipped because it is awkward to reach: the inside of every cupboard, behind the appliances, the tops of doors, the tracks the windows slide in. A property changing hands gets looked at far more closely than a home in daily use.

It matters most at the end of a tenancy, when the property is compared against the condition it was handed over in. It matters just as much at the start, because an empty property is the only version of itself that can genuinely be cleaned everywhere at once.

Moving out?

This is the clean that goes where an inspection goes: inside the cupboards, behind the appliances, the parts a normal clean passes over. Those are the places that get looked at when the keys go back.

Moving in?

We clean before your things arrive, while the property is still empty and every surface is reachable. It is the only time a home can genuinely be cleaned properly.

  • Tiles, splashbacks and grouting

  • Limescale removed from taps, screens and tiles
  • Toilets, showers and baths fully disinfected
  • Grouting scrubbed
  • Extractor vents cleaned

Good to know

Book the property empty whenever possible. An empty home cleans faster and better. Send us the size and the handover date and we take it from there.

How long the work takes depends far more on the condition of the property than on its size. A flat that has been well kept for two years and a flat of the same size that has not are two completely different jobs, so it is worth saying which one yours is when you get in touch.

Some things fall outside this kind of clean: repairs, painting, rubbish removal in any quantity, exterior windows above ground level, and anything needing specialist equipment. If the property needs any of that, mention it and it can be discussed separately.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a move-out clean take?
It depends on the size of the property and, above all, the state it is in. Condition matters more than square metres, so describe both when you get in touch.
Should the property be empty?
Empty is much better. Every surface is reachable, nothing has to be worked around, and the result is noticeably more complete. A furnished property can still be cleaned, but some areas will be inaccessible.
Do you clean inside the oven and the fridge?
Yes. On a move-in or move-out clean, the inside of the oven, fridge, freezer, microwave and dishwasher is part of the standard scope, along with the extractor hood and its filter.
Is furniture moved?
Light furniture is moved where it is safe to do so. Anything heavy, fragile or fixed in place is cleaned around rather than shifted.
Can the property be cleaned before the keys are handed over?
Yes, as long as access is arranged. Tell us when the property is available and by when it needs to be finished, and the work is planned around those dates.
